The Fast Bid Auctions Team

The Fast Bid Auctions Team
Fast Bid Auctions was founded by Darren Shetler, who has worked in construction and development in California for over 40 years. Over his career, Darren accumulated tools, materials, and unused equipment, and he realized many others faced the same challenge. Having been a longtime auction customer himself, Darren saw the need for a more consistent, accessible auction platform. With that vision, Fast Bid was created: a trusted, hassle-free way to buy and sell equipment online.
What makes Fast Bid Auctions different is that it’s powered by locals, for locals. Darren Shetler, Ethan McKeague, and Landon Greenelsh are all fifth-generation San Luis Obispo County natives, with deep family roots in building, ranching, and agriculture on the Central Coast. That heritage shapes the company’s values — honest, community-centered, and in it for the long haul.
Darren, born and raised in Atascadero, graduated from Cal Poly with degrees in accounting and finance, along with a master’s in business. He is joined by longtime family friends, Ethan McKeague and Landon Greenelsh, helped launch and run the auctions from the start. Landon holds a degree in marketing from Boise State University, while Ethan earned a degree in agricultural business from Oklahoma State University.
Beyond leadership, Fast Bid’s strength comes from the many other dedicated team members working at each of our auction locations. From Santa Maria to Tulare, every yard is staffed by local professionals who live in the community and ensure consignors and buyers receive friendly, knowledgeable support.
Together, this team blends business knowledge, marketing savvy, agricultural expertise, and financial acumen, all backed by generations of connection to San Luis Obispo County. This combination of local legacy and professional knowledge drives Fast Bid’s mission to serve both consignors and buyers with integrity.
